Icon and Illustration universe – guideline and rules
Last edited: 03/07/2024
All rules need to be respected when icons/illustrations are created. It is very important to ensure we get the same expression in all our materials both for external and internal use. The JYSK icon/illustration guideline is defined by the graphic team. Any wishes for new elements or adjustments need to be run handle and aligned with them.
ICON AND PICTOGRAM GUIDELINE
SIMPLE ICON
The SIMPLE ICON is primarily used as navigation icons on JYSK’s websites.
• The icon is made in the document size 32x32 px with a stroke thickness of 2 px made
in a pixel-perfect grid. If needed the icon can be scaled – here it must retain the
proportions in relation to the stroke thickness.
• The icon should only be used in small sizes and should not be shown in huge sizes on
banners, posters etc. If the icon should be used in large sizes then consider using the
DETAILED ICON or the PICTOGRAM instead.
• The file is made for online use – if you need a version for printed matter please change
to the CMYK colour values as described to the right and change the document from
pixel to millimeter dimensions.
DETAILED ICON
The DETAILED ICON can be used on for example packaging, store signs, printed matter,
online elements and on JYSK’s websites.
• When using on JYSK websites it is not allowed to use this as navigation icons – please
use the SIMPLE ICON instead.
• You can use this on packaging if you have to show a simple message. If you need to
show a function or a more complicated message you have to use the PICTOGRAM.
• The icon is made in the document size 21x21 mm with a stroke thickness of 1.6 pt. If
needed the icon can be scaled – here it must retain the proportions in relation to the
stroke thickness.
• The file is made for printed matter – if you need a version for online use please change
to the RGB/HEX colour values as described to the right and change the document from
millimeter to pixel dimensions.
PICTOGRAM
The PICTOGRAM is primarily used on packaging but it is also allowed to use on for
example store signs, printed matter and online elements. You can use the PICTOGRAM
when you need a larger icon or an icon that have to show a function or a more
complicated message.
• The PICTOGRAM is made in the document size 21x21 mm with a stroke thickness of
1.6 pt. If needed the icon can be scaled – here it must retain the proportions in relation
to the stroke thickness.
• The file is made for printed matter – if you need a version for online use please change
to the RGB/HEX colour values as described to the right and change the document from
millimeter to pixel dimensions.
